Call for Journal-To-Conference Track: AISTATS 2026

We are pleased to announce that the second edition of the Journal-to-Conference track at AISTATS has now opened for submissions, following the successful pilot launched in 2025.

This track invites authors of papers published in, or accepted by, selected journals to present their work as posters at the upcoming AISTATS 2026 conference.

Eligibility

Eligible papers must:

  • Have been published or accepted after January 1, 2024 in one of the following journals:
    • Annals of Statistics
    • Biometrika
    • Journal of the American Statistical Association
    • Journal of Machine Learning Research
    • Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B.
  • Not contain contributions that have already been published at a conference (with archival proceedings) by the same authors. In other words, the journal paper cannot be an extension of a previous conference publication.
  • Not have been presented at a previous AISTATS Journal-to-Conference track.
  • Not have been presented, nor be scheduled for presentation in the future, at existing Journal-to-Conference tracks of sister AI/ML conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML).

Authors must supply a working link to the journal website to confirm eligibility, indicating either a published paper or one accepted for publication.

This list of eligible journals will likely be expanded in subsequent years to include additional journals whose topics are relevant for the AISTATS community.

Applying to the Journal-to-Conference Track

Authors of an eligible published or accepted paper must submit their request through the following form:

https://forms.gle/KXFzzdutGGwVjw3i9.

The deadline for receiving requests is January 31, 2026 AOE. The deadline is firm. No extensions will be provided. You will receive the decision by email no later than February 15, 2026 AOE. Accepted posters will also be announced on the AISTATS website Journal-to-Conference track page.

No additional peer review will be conducted for the submissions. In case the number of submissions exceeds the capacity at the venue for AISTATS, we will prioritize early-career authors, make sure to promote diversity and give preference to researchers that do not already have a paper accepted at AISTATS 2026.
